I used J & S Builders in September 2012 to replace the whole roof of my house, construct a roof for my porch and paint the exterior of my house.

The work was carried out quickly, very efficiently and to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and hard working. Their workmanship was excellent and they were very neat and tidy whilst carrying out their work.

The work was carried out on schedule despite the poor weather conditions at the time.

My house now looks much better now that the new roofs have been completed and the walls painted. There was no need to call the company back to do any alterations as the work was done properly first time.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to any of my friends.

I asked J & S Builders to provide me with an estimate for converting my garage into a sitting room, converting a large utility room into a smaller utility room plus shower room, and changing a flat roof to a pitched roof. I was given a competitive price for the job.

The workers were friendly and polite at all times and took the time to explain to me what was happening at each stage of the works. I was very impressed with the quality of workmanship by J & S Builders.

Although Stephen was not on site every day his personal attention to detail was impressive. He made sure doors, handles, glass etc all matched existing. Stephen also liaised with the Council's Building Standards section as and when required.

The site was left safe and tidy every day of the 8 week project.

I am delighted with the finished job and wouldn't hesitate to contact J & S Builders for any future work and would definitely recommend them.

Stephen Burke, J&S Builders, co-ordinated the building of our garage in Maybole. Communication with Stephen was very good, phoning or emailing when he said he would and dealing with any queries we had quickly.

Although Stephen didn't work on the site much the trades people he sent were first class, in particular the bricklayers, the guys who poured the concrete base, the roofers and the plasterers. We dug the foundations, which Stephen checked, and then everything else was done by Stephen's contractors/employees. The build was scheduled to start in January, but this being the worst winter for a long time there were delays which could not have been prevented (snow and hard frost). It took around 7 or 8 weeks from the start of the job to the finish.

The site was tidy and when the job was finished it was cleared of all rubbish. We have applied for the completion certificate but as yet we have had no communication from the council.

The price was competitive and the agreed price was what we paid, no hidden extras.

All in all a job well done and satisfied customers who would certainly make Stephen the first port of call for any future work.

Mr Stephen Burke and his team have now carried out several projects on our home since October 2009.

This included remedial work on our chimney, extensive insulation work, joinery, plastering and the installation of underfloor heating in one room along with the laying of solid wood and tiled floors.

Throughout this process I have found Stephen and his team, punctual, reliable and hardworking. Importantly, they always tidy up at the end of the day.
As with many complex renovations, the project evolved as it went forward. Throughout the process I found Stephen and David approachable and keen to take trouble to get our ideal solution.

J & S Builders carried out the work done at the this address. All aspects of the job were explained to myself and my wife by Steven Burke. All work was completed when we were told it would be. We both found Steven and his colleagues very approachable and very accommodating. They arrived every morning and were never late. They were very professional and tidy around the house. At the end of everyday they tidied up after themselves and hoovered up any mess made. The work carried out in the house was to a very high standard.
